The Intel Celeron-powered Chromebook 2 will be
priced at $329.99 (approximately Rs. 21,800) while the fifth-generation Intel
Core i3-based Chromebook 2 will come at $429.99 (approximately Rs. 28,500). The
company also announced that both models will come with an all-new LED backlit
keyboard. The Chromebook 2 was initially
announced by the company at IFA last year.
The Toshiba Chromebook
2 will feature a 13.3-inch full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) display with IPS
technology. The company claims that the Chromebook 2 weighs just 1.3 kilograms
and that the front-facing stereo speakers on the laptop are tuned by
Skullcandy. It includes dual-array microphones and an HD webcam.
The company claims up to 8.5-hour battery life for both the
models. For connectivity, it equips Wi-Fi 802.11ac, one USB 3.0 port, one USB
2.0 port, HDMI output, SD card slot, and a security lock slot. The company is
also offering 100GB of free Google Drive storage with the new Chromebook 2.
Apart from free Drive storage, consumers will also 90-days of free unlimited
music streaming on Google Play.
