HOW TO SETUP GOOD CUSTOM TEMPLATES FOR YOUR BLOGGER BLOG

In the beginners brain many possibilities do exist. Setting up a good design for your blogger blog is really a necessity for every blogger..

Before you can install any blog template you really need a blog. if
you don't own a blog and you want to create one, read my post on how to create a blogger blog.
In the world of blogging the issue of  good blog design not only lies on the blog background alone but also on other factors such as:

The blog load speed
The seo friendliness
The user friendliness
The adsense friendliness
and also the amount of data consumed while trying to load any of the blog page.

 Let me take you through short steps you can take to setup a good custom template for your blogger blog

STEP 1
Go to your blogger dashboard and click on the desired blog you want to customize its template

STEP 2
In the drop down found at the left side of the dashboard, click on template and it will open up like this

you need to save your original blog template in-case you don't like the new template you installed, so you could easily revert the blog template to its previous one. 

STEP 3
Click on Backup/Restore found at the top right corner of your dashboard and it will open up like this

STEP 4.
Now click on download template.. Congratulations you have successfully downloaded/saved your old blog template.. please note that the blog template is in an  xml format..

 Now visit any of this sites listed below to download any custom template of your choice

I strongly recommend going for responsive templates for magazine, entertainment and news blogs.
Once you have successfully downloaded the template, extract the xml file and save it on your desktop for easy access.

Now go back to your blogger dashboard where you saw DOWNLOAD FULL TEMPLATE in the picture above. Now click on CHOOSE FILE and carefully locate the xml custom template you extracted to your desktop and click on open...Now it comes up like this

You can see that close to the CHOOSE FILE tab we have FLOYYD.XML .. that's the current custom template for my test blog... So yours have to show up like that but mustn't be floyyd.xml. it can be anything .xml..
Note that without the .xml extension attached to it, nothing works!!!

STEP 5.
click on upload and once its done uploading you visit your blog home page to check out your new look....
